Lenz
Illustration & Editorial Design
Georg Büchner's story »Lenz« is about the increasingly deteriorating mental state of the main character of the same name. With this illustrated edition, the entry and exit of darkness between the environment and the interior of the figure Lenz is emphasized. The focus is put on the origin of the darkness and how it spreads throughout the story, as well as its symbolic meaning for Lenz's psychological development.
Since the illustrations are overlaying the text and therefore the story partly disappears in the dark, as it is also the case for Lenz himself, this booklet formally refers to the Lenz edition of Reclam Verlag, so that the story can be followed nevertheless.
