Time Wise
Poster Series, Diploma 2016
Time seems to become increasingly scarce in our society, as a result it is getting more and more valuable to us. The omnipresence of the statement »I do not have time« and the observation of an accelerated everyday life, in which the days and weeks pass by quicker and quicker, depicts this scarcity very impressively. In all areas of our lives we tend to succumb to hurry. This is not a problem, as long as it is not a burden for the individual person. But when one begins to perceive this speed as unpleasant, it is time to take time again, or rather to pay attention to your time.
My diploma is dedicated to this realization. With the help of three hand printed silkscreen posters, which change through time, the viewer is invited to personally linger and rediscover the positive meaning of slowness and duration. The colors of the graphical gradients call the images of sunsets to mind, which, with the change from day to night, form the most original form of the time-unit for us humans. This work is about reconsidering how to deal with time, and thus perhaps finding a new, from now on slower »Zeit Weise« (german for »way of time« or »time wise«).
