Conspiracy Theory
Book Design, Infographics, Poster
This reference book deals with conspiracies and conspiracy theories. Conspiracy theories in particular are often not taken seriously – although they seem to attract everyones attention in a certain way. Most people don’t take them serious, they can be found either in spoken form or on dubious internet sites.
The book as a medium, however, has the possibility of giving the written word which it contains, a special importance. The written word in the book has more weight than the spoken word. The seriousness of written information is a characteristic that new media like the Internet so far have not acquired in this form or only partially.
The conspiracy theories in the form of a book are therefore raised to a new level of credibility. In order to emphasize the importance of these theories, in this collection they are listed together with actual conspiracies. The connections between the various conspiracies and theories at the end of each chapter emphasize the threat that is inherent in conspiracy theories. These connections are also visualized in the graphic at the end of the book.
This graphic was also translated as an A1 poster. The resulting red ball visualizes the menace, which together with other factors is a trigger for the fascination for conspiracies and conspiracy theories.
